Discover the park of Bournat near our campsite in Dordogne !

35 minutes away from the campsite La Fage in the Dordogne department, the park of Bournat proposes you to plunge back one century earlier, in the universe of the Périgord of 1900. Discovery of old trades, but also fairground games, old rides and numerous animations are waiting for you. A leisure park in the middle of nature from another time and unique in the New Aquitaine region in the South West of France.

LE BOURNAT, A PERIGORDIAN VILLAGE OF 1900 FAITHFULLY RECONSTITUTED

A 1900’s village faithfully reconstructed in Le Bugue on an 8 hectare site on the banks of the Vézère, Le Bournat is also an ode to the cultural and historical heritage of the Périgord. The buildings of the village have been reassembled stone by stone on the site, or built with the skills and materials of the time. The daily life and trades of the villagers of 1900 are presented through the work of real craftsmen and the setting up of educational workshops: an opportunity to admire the tools and techniques of cutlers, millers, blacksmiths, brewers, bakers, glass blowers or wood turners. Lost activities such as wheat braiding are demonstrated. You can also discover in the park of Bournat agricultural machines and cars of the time. The interiors of the buildings are also faithfully reconstructed, like this school classroom that seems to have come straight out of the first 20th century. Le Bournat finally has the air of a village in celebration, with games and rides of a rare beauty! A visit for the whole family which is worth the detour near the Vénère valley, as much as the visit of a prehistoric cave and the walks in the famous Dordogne gardens.

A FAMILY THEME PARK WITH VARIOUS ACTIVITIES

Resolutely family oriented, the village of Le Bournat offers a wide range ofactivities in the Dordogne likely to excite or entertain at any age. Between the craft demonstrations, the visit of the windmill and the workshops proposed to learn the techniques of spinning or weaving wheat, the educational is mixed with the playful. The discovery of the games and attractions of the Belle Époque period also enthuses all generations: the site has sublime restored and working rides such as the caterpillar and its hood, the big wheel 1900, the carousel, the galloping horses or the rickshaw. Many games are also available to the public. The village is constantly animated, with street singers, a photographer’s workshop and Stanley rides. Rural village of the Périgord, Le Bournat also offers a relaxing country setting. There are many animals to be seen, which will delight both young and old: flocks of geese, Shetland ponies and Angora goats, for example. A boat ride on the marshes takes you gently to the animal island, populated by peaceful cows of ancient breeds. The carriage ride is also a must in the village of Le Bournat, which allows you to see the whole site while enjoying a pleasant moment of relaxation with your family.
