In 1996, the municipality of Terrasson Lavilledieu launched an international competition for the creation of a garden in the Dordogne.
The project of the English architect Ian Ritchie and the American landscape architect Kathryn Gustafson was selected.
The achievements of these two architects are now known and recognized worldwide.
These gardens, unique in Europe, cover 6 hectares and overlook the Vézère and its valley. They are registered on the list of remarkable gardens in France.
Installed on 6 ha, the gardens of the imagination are declined in 13 tables. Each painting evokes a part of the history of gardens.
